The film 'VANISHING ON 7TH STREET' fits very nicely into my classic book of films. Even if the film 'VANISHING ON 7TH STREET' received mainly negative feed back from film critics, I generally found the film quite entertaining and realistic. It introduces a new aspect of horror that I haven't seen before and that's what it kept the film an overall entertainment ride. With a total budget of $10,000,000, the film 'VANISHING ON 7TH STREET' was theatrically unsuccessful and the film only obtained $3,000 on the opening weekend and eventually grossing $1,000,000 - which is one-tenth of the intended budget. If they wish to create a sequel to 'VANISHING ON 7TH STREET', which will be very unlikely; I would love to see what happens to the two remaining characters in the film, or even create the same film with a whole new set of characters then eventually merge the characters from the original and the sequel to create a third film - a fight to the finish.
With '28 WEEKS LATER' debuting in 2007, it's been a debate whether if there will be a third installment in the franchise. '28 WEEKS LATER' was a major success, received mostly positive outcomes from film critics and eventually grossed almost 65 million dollars world wide. In early 2013, an interview was conducted with 'Danny Boyle' (DIRECTOR OF 28 DAYS LATER), Boyle expressed that a sequel is in the developing stages, however - when asked about what the general idea the film was going to be based on, Boyle decided not to share with the audience what the idea was, Boyle replied with "No, because they’ll end up in The Walking Dead." If Boyle acclaims the film rights from 20th Century Fox - I'm debating if it should be a follow on from the first installment or a direct sequel from '28 WEEKS LATER', or possibly a completely new story. 28 MONTHS LATER has been announced - but if it will be confirmed will be an entirely different story. Time will only tell, but it's a 40-60% chance if Boyle directs the follow on, as he previously stated in his interview.
'SPARKLE' may just be one of my favorite motion pictures of 2012. 'SPARKLE' can be re-known as a remake from the original film that's also the same name in 1976. When Whitney Houston acclaimed the film rights back in early 2001 - originally R&B singer was cast as the lead role of 'Sister', but due to her death in August 2001, the film 'SPARKLE' was ultimately delayed till further notice. When I decided to watch the film 'SPARKLE', I must admit, I did come in with low expectations - mainly because 'JORDAN SPARKS' isn't exactly the best actress around town. However, I did enjoy the film very much - I must say that 'CARMEN EJOGO' "stole my heart" with her ground-breaking performance, with film critics stating that her performance was under consideration for Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination. If Warner Brothers decide to develop a sequel to 'SPARKLE' I hope it revolves around Sister's point of view - exiting jail, recovering and gaining a second opportunity of success. R.I.P. Whitney Houston.
Although there have been rumors in the past about a third installment in the Kill Bill franchise, Quentin Tarantino expressed that if another sequel will be developed, it'll most likely revolve around the vengeance of the character you may remember from the first film 'NIKKI GREEN', who is out to avenge for her mother's death. Even if it's been ten years since the first installment of the series, Tarantino stated that he have interest in making a final remark into the series, closing the franchise with its third installment. However in late 2012, an interview was conducted with Quentin Tarantino and he stated himself that ""I don’t know if there’s ever going to be a 'Kill Bill. Vol 3.' We’ll see, probably not though." It's a real shame that an on-going franchise will be dismantled. Even though there hasn't been a Kill Bill motion picture debuted for years. But once again I must say that with time & patience, it'll most likely to happen if you keep your hopes up! If there will be a sequel announced, the word will be on this site as soon as possible!
With recently producing a film entitled 'I'LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER' that debuted in 2006 which was direct-to-video; despite the fact the title expresses the film is rather a continuation of the second installment, it does not have feature any of the cast from the previous film. The film 'I'LL ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER' received highly negative reviews from film critics. However, there have been rumors that were spreading around in early 2011 that a film entitled 'LAST SUMMER 3D' was going to be developed with an expected release date around the same time of Scream 4. However, it was just a rumor... But a pretty damn good one if you ask me! I've always been a fan of the franchise, even if the latest installment which was produced in 2006 an overall major disappointment. I would like the character of 'JULIE JAMES' and 'KARLA WILSON'. There haven't been talks for a sequel featuring the original cast due to the negative reviews from film critics.
