THE DIRECTOR we all know and love, Rob Zombie is back with his latest film 'THE LORDS OF SALEM'. The film stars his very own wife 'Sheri Moon Zombie' as she returns playing the character 'Heidi LaRoc' or others may refer the name to 'Adelheid Elizabeth Hawthrone'. The film 'The Lords Of Salem' is about an ex-drug addict named Heidi who works at a local radio station known as the 'BIG H RADIO TEAM'. During the end of one of the show's segments, Heidi receives a delivery. A wooden package which includes a record named 'THE LORDS', but once the record is repeatedly recorded on the radio station, Heidi starts to notice that her daily lifestyle has turned into a haunting experience. 'THE LORDS OF SALEM' commences likable characters and a few world known actors to the human eye. It's a warm welcome to see one of our favorite all-time actresses Dee Wallace to appear on the smaller screen, another role that she's reprises in was an Asylum film that I previously reviewed.
'THE LORDS OF SALEM' started production on October 17th, 2011 till December 10th - 2011 with a total of 23 days to shoot the entire production. Rob Zombie started that the film has one-third budget of 'THE DEVIL'S REJECTS' with a total budget of one and a half million dollars. On the one hand, the film has been beautifully crafted with the use of locations, such as the apartment's hallway and the radio station + I'll also give out points to 'BRANDON TROST' for his work of Cinematography, but however on the other hand - during the last twenty minutes of the overall feature film it's full of nonsense. The ending didn't quite make sense to the audience, which left unsatisfying results but 'THE LORDS OF SALEM' introduces a new installment into the horror category and it's nice to see Rob Zombie back into his own roots, developing new projects - even though it's a shame that his next project will be the complete opposite from the horror section.
'THE LORDS OF SALEM' catches the essence the 70's vibe the film was aiming for, it's rather sheer genius if you're a fan of the 'B MOVIE' genre. The film includes rather interesting aspects that'll make you wonder what the film is actually about. It's been a while since ROB ZOMBIE has entered a film set - as listed as his previous project was an episode off 'CSI: MIAMI' which developed a horror element to the scene.but other than that if you're looking for a film to watch on a Saturday night, this may be the right film for you to check out. RECOMMENDED.
